goodbye. hello.

30 Jul
to my first ever bike.  i think someone paid $1 for it.

geeps speaks with the new deere owner after the auction.

I scored a few things at the auction too.  [pre-auction.  bid I did not.]  Funky metal drawers and – wait for it – A CARD CATALOG!  A mini-card catalog.  We’re talking twelve drawers.  It held screws and things in the shop and it’s in pretty rough shape.  I will refinish it, clean it up, and love it as my own.  [It’s a secret dream of mine to have a card catalog.  This one is on a small scale but I’m still thrilled.  Photos/perhaps a before/after series to follow!]

a few more.

it’s here.

24 Jul
I’ve been a bit absent [again] as I’ve been busy preparing for today.  [and for a cousin’s graduation party yesterday.]
It’s here.  It’s time.  People are on their way …
[whispers]
the ordination.
I’m nervous as all get out.  But excited too.  It’s down to those last minute details like where the clergy will vest and who will use what microphones.  It will be okay.  God will show up.  I will be ordained.  There will be many tears and much rejoicing.
Prayers welcomed.  Stories to follow.

That’s a lot of sprinkles.

30 Jun
The price was right, the colors were unlike any I had seen in other stores, and knowing that I have cakepops by the hundreds to make in the next month, I figure they’ll get used.  These [and lunch with Lynn] totally made my day.  I’m excited to put them to work!

new clothes.

20 Jun
I just ordered an alb.  [About time, eh?  It’s the robe pastors wear for worship.]  And a cinture.  [The rope that ties around the waist of an alb.]  And a short-sleeve-poly-cotton-tab-collar-button-front blouse. [A clergy shirt.  Again, about time, eh?  I didn’t wear one once on internship and the one I used in the cooking pastor videos I borrowed from a friend.]  I had to enter my “title” to register on this specific site [what does “the most Rev.” even mean? whatever it is, I don’t think I’ll ever be one.] and put down my role as ‘clergy – priest/pastor.’
Seems like I’m about to be a pastor or something.

I’m back!

13 May
The host for this blog, blogger, was down for nearly a whole day and, boy, did I miss my bloggy blog.  A lot of things happened yesterday – good and bad – and I found myself wanting to share the day with you.  But I couldn’t.  Every time I tried I got an error.  No worky.
I followed Blogger on Twitter and they constantly said that the site would be up and running again soon, along with the missing posts on this blog that suddenly went missing.  I waited.  I wrote blog posts in my head.  I exploded my thoughts onto paper.
Joel even wrote a rap about it last night.  He and his wife use blogger too, and were equally frustrated!  But fear not, as I live and breathe and type here, blogger has been resurrected.  I blogged here briefly in the absence of this gnomepreacher if you want to check that out, and even though it no longer technically applies, please enjoy Joel’s rap about blogger being dumb.
Blogger is down/ can’t write for awhile/ I’m gonna yell as I bust out in style/ try to write down all the stories in my mind/ better come back on line or I’m swinging for your head/ all you IT geeks with your programmer skills/ get blogger back up and running before I hit you in the grills/ I got hops/ and mad writing skills/ write now I’m pissed off/ cuz there are pages to fill/ off on a rant started couple hours ago/ this stupid ass site/ has got to show some respect for the people who navigate and write/ I’ll poetry slam you with a blog post all through the night/ what the hell is up, dear blogger/ what the hell is up….I want to write! What the hell is up, blogger/ you better watch out cuz we in for a fight!

It’s official.  I have entered my last full week of seminary classes.
[I’m going to say it again, because sometimes I don’t even believe it.]
I have entered my last full week of seminary classes.
I have four class periods and four final papers that separate me from the end of my seminary career, plus a few other minor assignments.
Ca. ray. zee.
[and here I am blogging instead of working on any of them. procrastination of schoolwork is my life.]
