Summer wrap-up.

Since it’s Labor Day weekend, it’s time to wrap up the summer I didn’t post about sooner …

The last week in July found us in Atlanta, staying at Dave’s brother’s home along with two of his other siblings (+ families) and his mom. It was a house full! We filled the time with cousin activities, pool time, and the sister-in-laws had a pickleball evening out. We did not take the dogs with us this time, which meant Dave and I could do some exploring on the way down. We took our time with a candy stop, a cave stop, pinball stop, and a cast iron stop. (The same kind of fun you would choose? Probably not, but it suited us just fine!)

The dahlias began to bloom (finally) and the tomatoes are producing like crazy. (This is our current countertop.)

Dave and I went to the WI State Fair, rode the sky glider, and ate a cream puff. A couple days later, I went to the IL State Fair with my friend, Kim, and a couple other friends to see Matchbox Twenty. We made a stop at Lincoln’s home – when in Springfield! (We also sat in the hotel lobby until 1am because the group of us really thought the band was staying at the same hotel. That was not confirmed by the time we went to bed. lol)

There’s been baking and sewing and gardening all mixed in there. Nights of playing Mahjong and navigating some changes at work. Limited camping adventures due to some truck troubles. Still, overall, summer, you’ve been great.

But please leave. I’d like to wear long sleeves and open the windows now.
