Monday Morning Star Count

10 Mar

I’m back at it … finally. After a crazy couple of weeks of traveling and being ill, I’m deep into my Union Jack hexies once again.  (And linking up over at Life Under Quilts – can’t wait to join the conversation again and see everyone’s progress since I’ve been absent!)

However, photo-wise, I don’t have a whole lot to show. I could show you a picture of how I’m using my treadmill as the quilt staging area. (Totally why I bought it, right?) I could show you a picture of the jumble of hexes on my lap as I sew and remove basting strings. Yeah, in fact, I think I will show you both of those that essentially show very little related to progress.

I’ve almost completed the stitching together of two quarters of the quilt. Two more and then the big pieces will be an even bigger jumble on my lap!

welcome back~ it’s a good jumble! I have re-appropriated our outdoor folding furniture as extra quilt layout space (yep, I brought them in from the garage to the family room), so your use of the treadmill is a great idea. Can’t wait to see a nice pic of it all laid out~

Thanks, Jessica! Such projects do require a creative use of space. I hope to have an even better picture of it laid out this coming Monday!

I use my treadmill the same way. I’m pretty sure that’s what they are meant for. I can’t wait to see this come together!! 🙂

I see nothing wrong with using your treadmill in this manner 🙂 Very pretty!

Great progress! I know what you mean about having a jumble in your lap as it grows.

Yes! I’ve never had such a big EPP project to maneuver before. It’s a skill set all in itself!

I love the use of the treadmill: it’s almost like setting up a conveyor belt of automated piecing. Or not… 😉 This is a gorgeous project. Well done!

A conveyor belt of piecing?! Love that idea!

Hey, our dining room table is permanently covered with my quilty works-in-progress. If I had a treadmill you can bet I’d use that, too. Much prettier that way!
